On vacation!

Well friends, tomorrow is the day when Big E and I leave bright and early on a jet plane for the sunshine state. My blogging will be limited as will be my social media contact. I really want to enjoy my vacation and "unplug" as much as I can. With that said, if something catches my eye and I think you all would benefit from it I will blog about it.

Until then - chat with you on August 4.

How do you organize your lists?

I had an inquiry asking how I write my lists. Do I organize by importance, just do a brain-dump, is there more than one list per page ....

To be completely honest I don't typically organize by importance but rather by category, if that makes any sense. I have lists for what to pack on vacation, what needs to be cleaned, what to buy at the grocery store, etc. Sometimes I have sub-categories, or list within my list. For example, I have a list for what to pack for vacation (meaning clothes) but I have a side list for toiletries and electronics.

My lists are here at home, at work, and even in my purse and on my phone. You could call me a little obsessed.

Here is a great site for lists made easy, Listly. Please share with me what you make lists for and how you use them. I always love a good list story.

Tuesday randomness

Hello friends!

As most of you all know, Big E and I are leaving for vacation on Saturday so I am overwhelmed with getting things done. First priority is packing .... list has been made!
love my lists!

Must clean our home too - my brother and his girlfriend will be staying here for a day or two while we are vacationing. Remove dog hair, clean bathrooms, vacuum, oh my the list goes on and on.

Look what I got in the mail today! MK is my new best friend. He always knows the perfect gift for a girl. These are divine and oh-so-comfy. The best part? They were $10 less expensive online at Zappos than in Macy's. Score! Not available from Zappos anymore but here they are on Dillard's site. Hmmm may have to get the Vanilla ones too.
Big E and I had to use a Groupon before we left because it was expiring. Mr. Ed's Memphis BBQ was surprisingly good for being a little hole in the wall way out in Saratoga. The BBQ Chicken and Macaroni & Cheese were my favorites. The Garlic Mashed were bland.

Tell me your favorite pair of shoes of the moment!

A picture is worth 1,000 words

With our Orlando vacation just around the corner, Big E and I decided we needed a more "usable" camera rather than my DSLR. I know that is why I have such a nice camera but I don't want to worry about it while at the beach or by the pool.

After shopping around online and checking reviews we decided on the Samsung dv300f smart camera. It has built in wifi so you can instantly upload photos to your phone, social media, an even e-mail them. I think my favorite feature has to be the dual LCD screens ... yup two! There is a small built-in screen on the front of the camera for those self-portraits that we all like to take to update our Facebook profile photo.

Sometimes, Always, Never

I sometimes:
  • don't shower on the weekends
  • watch QVC to relax
  • drive with the windows down
  • play with Lincoln on the floor
  • shower in the dark
  • sometimes know what to take for lunch

I always:
  • routinely ask Big E if he locked all the doors
  • like my iced tea with extra ice
  • watch the Real Housewives of ...
  • like horseradish sauce with my steak
  • get no onions on my salads

I never:
  • eat coconut flavored anything
  • like to show my upper arms
  • get a chance to go to the post office during the week
  • never let anyone share my straw
  • have been out of the United States - except for Canada

Living life organized

Finally my Erin Condren life planner arrived. It is beautiful and I plan to keep myself organized like never before.
This is my first planner from Erin and I excited to start using it, even though I am rather afraid to commit in ink in it. I would hate to make a mistake in spelling or something.

I now know what love is ...

Very sorry for the blog neglect these days. Been trying to get the house in order before Big E and I head off to Orlando on vacation in a couple of weeks. What better time to compose a new entry than today when I am sitting home from work because of an allergic reaction to what we think is a spider bite.

I splurged and purchased my first Michael Kors bag. To quote my friend Nicole, "I now know what love is." I can't believe I waited this long to make this purchase. I was coming down the escalator in my local Macy's and there it was. The angels were singing from above and I knew I had to have it. Feast your eyes on this beauty ...
Protecting my investment!

Next up, my friend Michele and celebrated our birthdays (hers being July 1st and mine is next week). We do something like this each year and it is always the highlight of the summer. We do random gifts and have lots of laughs.

Also check out my co-worker, Kim's Etsy shop, Take On Color,  where I purchased the handmade makeup bags. Great prices, fun patterns, and most importantly - awesome customer service.

Red, White, and Blue

How did you celebrate the holiday today?

Not going to see any of these tonight.
boom boom boom

For us, we made a huge dent in our renovation project! We got about 85% of our trim installed, touched up the paint in the foyer, and started prep work to finish painting our living room walls.

I was also feeling a little domesticated so I baked cupcakes. Such a shame that it was about 100 degrees in our home and the frosting was melting faster than I could get it on.

Just going to relax this evening and catch up on my DVR shows cause tomorrow it is back to work! Maybe I should have one of these though to celebrate this glorious holiday.

From my family to yours we hope you enjoyed a safe and happy 4th of July - till next year!
P.S. share some of your photos from today.

Monogram love!

Came across this great jewelry website, Swell Caroline.

Find me someone who doesn't love something monogrammed and I bet they didn't have this gem in their collection.

I would like to think that I am normally a calm and level-headed person but there are just some things that make me want to cringe, strangle the person in front of me, or just scream.

Scenario #1 - It is WalMart, not WalMarts.

Scenario #2 - Why do food or brand specific places run out of things? Examples would be: KFC running out of chicken, DD having no donuts, Taco Bell having no sauce, or a gas station having no gas. Really people?

Scenario #3 - It is checking account, not checkings!

Scenario #4 - Thank you nice lady to the left of me who pulled up to her stop sign the same time I did and waive me on to go. Thank you for letting me proceed when it was my turn in the first place.

Tell me some of your pet peeves please!
